Vinyl and Tape Restoration Process
Vinyl and shellac records are carefully cleaned prior to conversion. This reduces noise and improves the clarity of the recording (this step is optional but highly recommended.)
Your record is then played using a Pro-ject turntable and format-specific Ortofon cartridge into high-quality Focusrite analogue to digital converters. Basic treatment to remove most clicks and pops is a no-extra-cost option.
At this point, the file can simply be split into separate songs to create a CD / files. Optional further processing can be applied, ranging from straightforward noise reduction to full digital restoration to remove individual crackles, re-equalise or a variety of other enhancements.
Your record is returned to you along with the CD / files printed with a full track listing.
Cassette Tapes, along with Digital Audio Tape (DAT), microcassettes, open reel (reel-to-reel) and MiniDisc formats are converted via high-quality A/D converters, or directly from digital to digital where applicable, optionally de-noised, then split into individual tracks to create a CD or downloadable files.
Optional further processing available ranges from noise reduction to restoration work as required.
Your cassette, reel, disc or DAT is returned to you along with the CD copy / files printed with a full track listing.
Record cleaning is also available from £1.50 per disc.
